“Evangeline, We are with you through your trial.”

That was the subject line of an e-mail that came in this morning! What an encouragement!  

It has been a long fall around here. The first week of September, the whole family came down with a strange cough – and ever since then, at least a few of us have been sick almost every week.  Bronchitis, ear infections, flu, strange bacterial infections, crutches, a foot caught in the bike tire…  Twenty-one doctor visits since October. This week Josiah is home for 5 days with stomach flu, Eryka is sick… and Vangi gets to care for us all.

 On top of this, Vangi has had about the worst of it. Her cough, diagnosed as bronchitis about 2 months ago, has not gone away yet, and she’s getting rather tired.

 So this morning, when a mail heading popped up on the screen: “Evangeline, we are with you through your trial,” we were touched by someone’s thoughtfulness.

 Then. Then we opened the e-mail. Know who it was from? A software company! We downloaded a “trial” version of their software this week! They are “with us” through this “trial.”  (smile)

 Well, there is ONE who is with us always; Someone who really matters. Some ONE who makes a difference.  And we are reminded and encouraged by that this Christmas season.  Immanuel. God with us!
